As far as fights go on the current season of The Ultimate Fighter this one is definitely the biggest to date so far. Everyone seems to have tuned in to see if Kimbo has evolved at all from his days of having no ground game to speak off, and he's facing off against a grizzled veteran in the form of Roy 'Big Country' Nelson who has an MMA record of 17 - 4 and a former champion with the International Fight League.
So who is going to come out on top in this battle
UFC 104 is the next UFC event lined up to go down on October the 24th and should break our month long UFC drought with some great fights in Los Angeles, California. On the main card of course is the light heavyweight title fight between current champ Lyoto Machida and the challenger Mauricio 'Shogun' Rua which promises to be a great fight and Machida's first title defense against arguably one of the best fighters in the division. If the Shogun of old turns up we could see a close run battle, but currently the wise money has to go on Machida taking control of the fight
UFC 106 is shaping up to be a stacked fight card with two great main events set to go down at the Mandalay Bay Events Center on November the 21st, 2009. On the UFC 106 main card is the heavyweight title battle between the two juggernauts, the Champion Brock Lesnar and the challenger Shane Carwin. Sparks are surely going to fly in this fight of the giants with Carwin never going past round one, but he hasn't yet face someone with the controlling skills of Brock Lesnar, I'm sure Carwin is going to be the underdog here but i have no doubt he will be preparing well for the most important fight of his career
MMA Live is back once again with more MMA news and reviews on ESPN's popular mixed martial arts show. This week Jon Anik is joined once again by Kenny Florian and Franklin McNeil, Molly Querim is also on hand to break down the Ultimate Fighter so far. Sengoku 10 went down last night with some fast knockouts on the interesting fight card. There was a good mix of different weight classes at Sengoku 10 and many of the fights went as expected, some not as expected, but all with plenty of action and lots of quick knockouts all accross the board
Its another busy week for MMA with two big events kicking off this week, so you crazy MMA fans don't need to worry about not getting your fix. No UFC this week however but there is still lots going one with Sengoku 10 going down in Saitama Japan and Strikeforce Challengers in Oklahoma.
First up is Sengoku 10 happening on the Wednesday the 23rd September, with a card that features a serious amount of fights and some well known names
UFC 103 went down in Dallas and had enough good fights to surely please UFC fans, even though the main event was much shorter than everyone expected. After the great night of fights on the UFC Fight Night this Wednesday it definitely had it's work cut out living up to that, and while it didn't quite measure up to the pace set on Wednesday it definitely had its fair share or big names and unanimous stoppages that made it an entertaining card
With the events of UFC Fight Night behind us, UFC 103 surely has a lot to live up too, because the Fight Night Card proved to be an all round crowd pleaser, with four of the best back to back fights seen to date on a Fight Night card.
In preparation for UFC 103 which has all the fighters to make it a great card itself it's time to take a look at some of the video blogs that have been made to back up this card
The latest and potentially most exciting season of The Ultimate Fighter just aired last night and what a show, with all the heavyweights featuring this season we could be sure to expect some fireworks and we got them. With Rashad Evans and soon to be B A Baracus Rampage Jackson as coaches there was also a lot of back and forth banter, and Dana White wasn't hyping just how much these two don't get on.
This show we get to see the Heavyweights going to work with Rampage giving them some funny digs along the way, the coaches get to give their picks on which fighters they want, with Rashad declaring that all his fighters could beat any of Rampage's picks
This week is going to be a busy one for MMA fans and UFC fans, with 3 big events this week alone, first we have UFC Fight Night tonight with Diaz Vs Guillard, then the opening episode of the 10th season of TUF starts right after. That of course leads us on to this weekends main event UFC 103 and we get to see the return of Vitor Belfort in the UFC and from the Countdown to UFC 103 it looks as though Vitor is firing on all cylinders
