WEC 46 is going to hit our screens on the 10th of January 2010 and will see the lightweight belt unification fight between Jamie Varner and Ben Henderson in what is sure to be an all out battle. As usual Versus will be showing the fight card which also features the return of WEC fan favourite Uriah Faber facing off agains 15 and 1 prospect Raphael Assuncao. Interestingly enough Assuncao's only loss came to Jeff Curran back in 2006 who also fought and lost to Uriah Faber in 2007 but you have to be careful applying MMA math to what should be an explosive fight
With UFC 108 probably toting up the most fallouts and lost fighters ever in a UFC it's still nice to see that the card still looked pretty damn solid come fight night. With a main card of Rashad Evans and Thiago Silva squaring off for the reputed No1 light heavyweight contender spot and up and comer Paul Daley taking on BJJ expert Dustin Hazelett filling in the co main event slot.
Zuffa also did the nice tactic this time of adding two of the prelims onto a spike TV airing before the main PPV card starts and they are definitely the most interesting out of the undercard, in reality though we actually got three which were all later shown on the main card but you can't win them all!
Dynamite!! put on their Dream, Sengoku and K1 card yesterday to end the MMA calendar for 2009 and bring us into 2010 and what a card it was! The Japanese certainly know how to put on a great MMA show and we had a large mix of fights including the Dream Vs Segonku fights which added a nice layer of tension to the proceedings as the final fight in that set was the decider.
Notable winners of the evening included Gegard Mousasi putting a clinical beating on Gary Goodridge who had no answers and was left on the canvas taking shots to the head before the ref jumped in to stop the fight. It wasn't an upset but Mousasi still showed the usual calm and finesse when it comes to finishing opponents
UFC 108 is just around the corner and feature a much changed card from when it was first announced, the UFC have really had problems with this card with injuries and fighters dropping out of the card to the point where it's now a completely different lineup to what was origionally announced.
Regardless the UFC have still managed to put together a pretty solid card with some great matchups and while it's not as good as the origional line up they are of course pushing hard on their first card of 2010 and that means that Dana is back with his video blogs to hype up the fights and picque our interests

What does this mean for fight fans? Well it means we get a bucket load of fights that cover a battle between the Dream and Sengoku fighters in a series of matches that should determine which organisation has the better fighters! We also see the finals of the Dream Super Hulk Tournament and the K1 World Max 2009 Tournament Final
This weekend we have two MMA events going head to head which of course were Strikeforce Evolution and WEC 45 which gave us a minor headache in that we had to choose which we were going to watch. Personally i watched the Strikeforce Evolution card and while i was a little bit worried i might have chose the wrong event to watch those thoughts were quickly quashed though with all four main cards fights really delivering the goods in a night of action thats saw a couple of real upsets
