MMA Linkage – UFC 100 Prediction Poll Results

UFC 100 is just around the corner, and we’ve compiled all our prediction polls together for the main card.  We’re revealing the results of your predictions in this post and seeing if your voting and predictions match up to how the results actually play out on Saturday night.  I still think this is a really tough card to call especially the final three fights on the main card, so by having a poll to check the results, and we can get a good idea on who the majority thinks will win in this landmark MMA event.

Brock Lesnar Vs Frank Mir

The results for this fight at UFC 100 are pretty unanimous, with nearly all our readers and voters predicting Frank Mir to repeat history again, with a submission win over Brock Lesnar.  It’s hard to count out the big guy, but in Frank Mir he is matched up against a real legitimate heavyweight, Mir will come in to this bout heavy, much heavier and with more muscle than both of Brocks previous opponents.  A few voters sided with Brock Lesnar expecting to see a TKO, Donkey Kong smash style like we saw against Randy Couture, and a few even picked a clean KO.

George St Pierre Vs Thiago Alves

The bout between welterweight champ George St Pierre and Thiago Alves is probably the most one sided result from the UFC 100 prediction polls.  Nearly all our prediction poll voters called this one in favour of the dominant French Canadian with percentage of the results expecting GSP to win via TKO, with the rest of the voters thinking GSP will win by submission or by KO then decision last.  A few voters have sided with Thiago Alves on this one, with a TKO or KO.

Dan Henderson Vs Michael Bisping

Out of all our UFC 100 prediction poll votes, the Dan Henderson Vs Michael Bisping fight is by far the closest.  This one looks like it could be one of the closest fought battles of the night, both guys are tough and while Henderson has knockout power and great wrestling, Bisping has been in with both power hitters and wrestlers before and both guys have never been knocked out.  And you our voters have so far just edged this one in favour of Dan Henderson, who is just winning at the moment, however this one is close and I think its going to be reflected in the fight.

Jon Fitch Vs Paulo Thiago

Jon Fitch is one of the best welterweights in the UFC division with his only loss coming from the current title holder George St Pierre, so its no surprise that Fitch is coming out on top in the prediction polls for this match up against Paulo Thiago who is coming off a shock knockout victory over Josh Koscheck.

Yoshihiro Akiyama Vs Alan Belcher

This fight is having trouble getting recognition with all the massive superfights on the UFC 100 card and as a result we have not had as many people voting with their predictions on this MMA matchup.  Yoshihiro Akiyama, has a good fight record only losing once in his MMA career with wins over Melvin Manhoef and Dennis Kang.  Alan Belcher has a much more chequered career but has no doubt fought much more well rounded fighters than Yoshihiro Akiyama.  So currently our prediction polls have this UFC 100 bout even,
