Strikeforce Miami is the next MMA event from the San Jose based promotion, who are almost up to three years or promoting MMA events and Miami is their latest one.
With a main event featuring Nick Diaz Vs Marius Zaromskis which should have fireworks in store, and a co main event of Cristiane Santos Vs Marloes Coenen, we should be in for some interesting action, as Santos defends her title against the striker from Netherlands in Coenen.
As in recent times Strikeforce have been working to stack their cards with a mix of hardcore MMA fan favorites and also more well known names that can draw the more general audiences to their shows, and Miami is no exception. With the addition of well known athlete Herschel Walker taking on Greg Nagy, Strikeforce should pull in a few American Football fans who want to see if Herschel can turn his martial arts black belts into a win on the night. On the same track Bobby Lashley is due to face a yet unnamed opponent and should also be a big draw for casual fight fans and hardcore fans alike who want to see if he is the real deal and potential opponent for Fedor in the future.
Drawing more hardcore fans will be the name Melvin Manhoef who is a dangerous and exciting striker that seems to have been around for ages and if you haven’t seen the fight with him and Santos Cyborgs other half also called Cyborg then get yourself to Youtube right now.
One fight that should be on the main card but isn’t is the Jay Heiron match up with Joe Riggs, with Heiron being a possible stand out in Welterweight division for Strikeforce, but not as big a draw as a Bobby Lashley or Herschel Walker for the more mainstream fans.
